Well, I am a glutton for punishment. Just signed up for my 4th BP MS150 from Houston to Austin. It's only 74 days away and my bike is still in the case from my attempted CA trip in September. Looks like a lot of difficult days ahead to get back in shape for this, but it's worth it. I'll do my best to keep you all posted both here and on Twitter. @CAtransplant

Hasn't been a good year. The night day before leaving for the Best Buddies California ride I came down with a recurrence of the H1N1 flu. Bad enough to have it once but twice??? No way I could ride, let along fly to California. I was told it was a great event as usual and Best Buddies fundraising was a new record. Thanks to all who support them!
It's time to finally get back on the bike and do some serious riding. Weather in South Texas is very nice now so there are no excuses. I'll keep you updated and get back to raising some funds for some worthy charities. Keep an eye out for the "Big Texas Ride" coming soon.

Almost one week before the Best Buddies Challenge Hearst Castle. It's just incredible that it's here already. I am not in shape, but riding and I have done a pitiful job of fundraising to this point. However, that means that the next week will be a flurry of activity. Hopefully those who have supported my efforts in the past and participated in the BBHC in the past will support my drive this year. I'll have more information online later in the day. I look forward to your support.

I have been cycling regularly and feel pretty good about my progress to this point. I've ridden in nearly 100 degree weather and torrential downpours and both were fun. Have to get busy fundraising though.
I did take a little time off from cycling to walk in the Race for the Cure in Taft, CA to help raise funds for cancer research. It was a great event and had the best time walking with and visiting with great friends. Thanks to Sarah and Beth for getting me involved! They're the best!!!

Just signed up for the 2009 Best Buddies Challenge - Hearst Castle the weekend after Labor Day. For anyone who has never ridden this ride, it is one of the best anywhere and I highly recommend it. Not only do you get a great ride but you also help a great cause. Riders are also treated to great food (bbq at Hearst Ranch) and a first class private concert (Blackeyed Peas 2008) and tour of Hearst Castle. This year's band is yet to be announced but they will be a headliner again. For those who don't ride there are family rates, runner, walker rates and this year, Sebastian Siegel (now appearing on LOST) will lead TeamOxy's runners and walkers as part of the team. Hope to see you participating and for those who can't I hope you'll become one of my sponsors for the event. Just click on the donate link to the right. Training starts today!
