Today was the Tour de Doughnut in Katy, the kickoff for the MS150 training rides. The weather was pretty foggy, had to ride without my glasses but it was a great day overall. This was the first real road ride with my new bike. I can't believe the difference the bike and the clip on pedals make. All new muscles are sore this week. I've been working on balancing the pushing and pulling, but hadn't done anything close to 55 miles on the new bike until today. Overall it was a much more comfortable and faster ride than with my Diamondback.

The other fun part of the day was riding with a couple of different cycling clubs. Much more enjoyable than riding alone and the draft makes such a huge difference. Most of the ride was spent with several of the Southern Elite team members. Hopefully as we get closer to the MS150 we'll get more TeamOxy members turning out for the training rides. Only one doughnut today though. I can't believe someone ate 30 during last years ride.

Next week it's the Novemberfest Metric Century for The Center at Willow River Farms, which serves the Foundation for the Retarded.
