We're in New Mexico for New Years, visiting my sister and her husband. They live between Clayton and Springer, New Mexico. The ranch is at 5500 ft and there is a 42 mile county road that has literally no traffic. I rode this morning about 7:30am. Did about 18 miles to the main highway and back. It's pretty hilly and at a mile high a little more of a challenge than Houston. Oh, and it as 31 degrees this morning so I had on long johns and winter riding gear. The only thing I did not have were shoe covers and boy did my toes get cold. Tomorrow it's supposed to be around 60 so I plan to ride to Roy and then back to the main highway, probably about 50 miles. It sure is beautiful country to ride in!
