Tonight, or this morning was one of the more fun rides in the area. It was the Annual Midnight Ride through The Woodlands to benefit the Montgomery County Food Bank. It was very hot and humid and one fast 20 mile ride. I started with the first group and finished in the top 15 cyclists, even though it wasn't a race. We rode the first 10 miles at about 15 mph through several neighborhoods and then picked things up to about 25 mph for the second 10 miles. It was tough from about 12 to 16 but then I got my second wind. Keeping up with guys on road bikes isn't easy with a mountain bike but mine really rolls well. I just don' t feel real comfortable riding my Specialized in the dark. Too easy to hang a tire in a crack. The ride was a lot of fun though. Next up, looks like the Tour de Pink for breast cancer awareness on September 10th.
