With Maria Shriver at 2006 Best Buddies Pre-Ride Event

Time has really flown since the 2006 Volvo Best Buddies ride in California. I've been to Libya twice and who knows how many times to California and back. I rode in the Tour of Houston where Oxy introduced the Oxy Corporate Challenge this year. It was a great ride as Mark McCormack, 4 time US Pro Champion came to Houston to ride with TeamOxy. Mark also returned to ride in the BPMS150 with TeamOxy. Unfortunately I was sick and unable to ride but his legendary second day ride of 3 hours from La Grange to Austin will always be remembered by all the TeamOxy riders, especially Gordie Wilkinson who rode the entire 85 miles with him.

Last weekend I went to Boston to ride in the Volvo Best Buddies Challenge - Hyannis Port. It was cold, rainy and windy but an incredible event just the same. I rode the 20 mile ride so I would be able to attend some of the events at the finish. Too slow to ride the 96 miles and make it for those. I was fortunate enough to attend the luncheon hosted by Senator Kennedy, participate in the Celebrity Criterion with a Buddy, Arthur, and play foosball in Eunice Shriver's gameroom. Doesn't get much better for a weekend. It really got me motivated to fundraise and train for the California ride which will be September 8th this year.
