While traveling back to Texas I was notified by Texas State Senator and avid cyclist, Rodney Ellis, that he will be joining TeamOxy in supporting Best Buddies for the Hearst Castle Challenge. Senator Ellis will be riding the 100 mile ride from Carmel to San Simeon with the likes of Axel Mercyx, Mari Holden, Carl Lewis, Anthony Shriver and myself to raise funds for Best Buddies International. Senator Ellis hopes to bring Mayor Bill White and Councilwoman Carol Alvarado with him to challenge California governmental participants such as State Senator Dean Flores and others in fund raising and supporting Best Buddies in both states.

The Houston contingent's fund raising will go to support Best Buddies programs in the Junior Highs and High Schools in the Houston area. A list of those schools is on the Best Buddies website at www.bestbuddies.org.
